Black History Month Reading Contest

Southern Burlington County NAACP and Mount Laurel Library are pleased to announce The Second Annual Black History Month Reading Contest, a literacy initiative that celebrates the rich heritage, contributions, and accomplishments of African Americans.

This year's winner is Ruby L., a first grader at Countryside Elementary School! As the Grand Prize Winner, Ruby will receive a Kindle Fire loaded with a selected ebook, courtesy of Southern Burlington County NAACP.

Children in grades K-4 were invited to participate in our Black History Month Reading Contest, by reading any book written by an African American author or about Black history or culture. Each book read counted as an entry to win a grand prize raffle drawing. All participants will receive a Reading Certificate and bookmark.
