Celebrate Free Comic Book Day

Comic book fans of all ages are invited to stop by the Mount Laurel Library to celebrate Free Comic Book Day. Free comic books will be available, while supplies last, courtesy of Stormwatch Comics of Berlin and Mount Laurel Rotary. The Library is please to announce that M. Alice LeGrow, a freelance graphic novelist, will be a special guest for the day. LeGrow is the creator of Bizenghast, an eight-volume graphic novel series published by Tokyopop. Bizenghast has been translated into over a dozen languages for fans around the globe.

Create a Character with M. Alice LeGrow: Saturday, May 4 at 11AM
Calling all comic book fans, young and young at heart! Learn how to create your own comic book character from a professional comic book artist, M. Alice LeGrow! Attendees will learn about Marty’s creative process, make their own character, and have the opportunity to participate in a “Question and Answer” session. All ages. No registration.

Artists are invited to bring their portfolios for discussion with LeGrow.

M. Alice LeGrow is a freelance graphic novelist and the creator of Bizenghast, an eight-volume graphic novel series published by Tokyopop, Inc. Bizenghast has been translated into over a dozen languages for fans all over the globe. The series has spawned a full novelization, iTunes companion soundtrack, puzzles, activity books, a tabletop role-playing game and line of Target clothing merchandise, as well as various apps games and an animated webisode series.

M. Alice has been featured in Teen People's "What's Hot" list, The Gothic and Lolita Bible (US), Newtype Magazine and in various other publications, including the HarperCollins book Manga-ka America: Manga By America's Hottest Artists. She has also appeared on NPR's "All Things Considered" with host Jacki Lyden and is a regular guest at various anime and comic conventions. She has a BFA in Sequential Art from Savannah College of Art and Design.
